This weekend marked my 3rd Anniversary of opening my Etsy store Floridity. I’ve been selling with Etsy since 2005 in one form or another, but I take great pride in saying that I finally found a great home at Floridity. In just 3 years, I’ve reached over 700 sales, which is more than I could ever have hoped for…

To celebrate, I thought it was time for a giveaway!

My friends, James and Ewa Powell are the proprietors of Modern Fabrics. Not only do they sell beautiful modern fabrics, everything in their store was saved from landfills.

Their amazing business highlights the waste of the textile industry, with a stunning eye for design and sustainability. If you open a copy of Elle Decor, Architectural Digest, or read Apartment Therapy, these are the types of high end designer fabric they sell to the public……Fabrics from designers such as Maharam, Kvadrat, and Knoll. Most of this fabric can’t even be purchased by those other than the trade and Modern Fabrics sells yardage and remnants to the public for 30-70% off retail price.

My friend, Ewa, who has been a constant support for me, has offered up 3 lbs. of leather remnants to give away here!

This isn’t the leather that you buy at craft and fabric stores. This is high-end hide, mostly Italian and US, that because of small imperfections, isn’t suitable for large upholstery applications.

…but for handbags, satchels, handmade books, and jewelry????

I will be giving away:

*One, 3lb. box of leather remnants to one lucky winner, courtesy of Modern Fabrics. Because of shipping, this is only available to domestic USA entrants. (US + Hawaii, Alaska)

*One 12 oz. parcel of Modern Fabrics leather remnants, courtesy of ME, from my stash, for everyone ,domestic and international…so y’all overseas don’t feel all left out.

2) Leave an additional comment for each additional share of the giveaway HERE, or by sharing/liking Modern Fabrics, either by blogging, Facebook, or Twitter. (so, realistically if you did all those things separately, you could have 7 entries. 3 shares of the giveaway + 3 shares of Modern Fabrics + 1 comment = 7 entries)

3) I will draw 2 separate winners via Random Number Generator after MIDNIGHT, February 3, 2012 EST. I will first draw for the main 3lb prize. and then for the 2nd prize. But there will be separate winners….so, you can’t win both if you live in the US….I think that’s fair.
